After a long, cold, wet winter what could be more fun than an evening of scrumptious food, good friends and exciting entertainment!
\nThat is what individuals can expect at the first co-operative effort between The Tyrone Community Players and The Tyrone Partnership as their combined talents meld to present An American Cabaret, A Gathering Of Friends.
\nOn Friday and Saturday, April 22-23, the Tyrone Social Center will be transformed into a night club-like atmosphere filled with delightful culinary temptations, spirited music and dance, and the warm fellowship of some favorite TCP performers.
\nWhile nibbling some warm appetizers, individuals can delight in Darcy Wilson\u2019s rendition of \u201cThe Latte Boy\u201d, and, along with Max Dick, a version of \u201cSuddenly Seymour\u201d. The rich, warm tones of Kate Coltabaugh, as she sings from the score of Les Miserables, is the perfect blend to rich coffee and brushetta. Rich Ward, Gib Lucas and Betsy Beck will transport the audience back a few decades with some Peter, Paul and Mary sing-alongs while Jenn DeCoste and Jonathon O\u2019Harrow will surprise everyone with a unique twist on being \u201cWicked\u201d.
\nWhat could make the audience look forward to summer more than a male chorus, led by William A. Jones, singing and dancing to \u201cUnder The Boardwalk\u201d.
\nTop it off with \u201cFever\u201d by Mary Ann Kurtz, sprinkle in several big production numbers and garnish with a multitude of surprises, and the audience will have a great evening of live entertainment and food, Tyrone style.
\nUnder the direction of Alice Mulhollan, the production is intended to be an evening ripe with texture and experiences.
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve planned this evening to feature some classic entertainment, a few quirky surprises and a lot of good food,\u201d said Mulhollan. \u201cThe cast has been working very hard to bring a sense of fun and frolic to this production. Brian Williamson, choreographer, has done some really creative work with such numbers as \u2018All That Jazz\u2019 and \u2018Be Our Guest\u2019, which is the prelude to a decadent dessert.\u201d
