{"id":43283,"date":"2005-03-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-03-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2005-03-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-03-12T00:00:00","slug":"Tyrone-Snyder-Public-Library-offers-details-on-concert-opener--Greta-Shepardson--","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=43283","title":{"rendered":"Tyrone-Snyder Public Library offers details on concert opener, Greta Shepardson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tyrone-Snyder Township Public Library has announced its big annual \u201cfun\u201d raising concert scheduled for Saturday, April 16 at the Tyrone High School auditorium.<br \/>\nDoors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m.<br \/>\n\u201cAll of the monies raised will go toward paying the annual mortgage on the new Tyrone-Snyder Public Library located at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 10th Street in downtown Tyrone,\u201d said Chuck Banas, concert chairman and organizer.<br \/>\nThis year, the concert will bring four different types of acts to the high school stage. Opening up the show will be 16-year-old singing sensation Greta Shepardson.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are happy to let everyone know that we are going to be able to bring some additional young and up and coming talent to the Tyrone High School auditorium stage,\u201d said Banas. \u201cIn order to benefit the new Tyrone-Snyder Public Library, Greta has agreed to appear on stage for us Saturday evening, April 16.\u201d<br \/>\nGreta is a sophomore at Peters Township High School located outside of Pittsburgh. Her interests include singing, tennis and softball. She is also involved in her local church as a member of the church worship band.<br \/>\nGreta recently won a Pittsburgh area competition in Washington County called \u201cWake Up Your Dreams\u201d. She won a $1,000 scholarship from this county-wide competition and an opportunity to record a demo CD in West Hills Studio.<br \/>\n\u201cI really enjoy the competition and singing as often as I can,\u201d she said. \u201cI love being in the studio.\u201d<br \/>\nShe is also recording in RD Studios in Canonsburg.<br \/>\nGreta will be appearing with Kelsey Wilson and the Foxtrot Dancers, Barry St. Ives and the legendary group The Platters for this year\u2019s concert for the library.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are looking for this concert to attract another very large and supportive crowd,\u201d Banas added. \u201cThe last library concert was also very well received with over 800 in attendance.\u201d<br \/>\nTickets for the concert go on sale today and will be available up to show time the evening of April 16.<br \/>\nPrices are $30 per ticket, again with all the proceeds going toward the mortgage payment for the new library. All seats are reserved seating. All tickets are on a first come first serve basis. Also, there is plenty of free parking at the high school.<br \/>\nTickets will be available at the following ticket sale outlets: Healthy Alternatives, Bressler\u2019s Food Mart and Sports, Kopp Drugs, Joybeans and The Tyrone-Snyder Public Library.
