Local Fresh Air Fund volunteers recruit and interview host families, check references and coordinate Friendly Town Program activities in their communities.<br \/>\nTyrone area volunteers need help in order to create another fun-filled summer for children from New York City\u2019s low-income communities.<br \/>\n\u201cWhere I live is tough and urban,\u201d said LeSean, a 12-year-old boy from Brooklyn. \u201cHere, as soon as I wake up, I hear birds chirping.\u201d<br \/>\nIn 2005, The Fund continues its 128-year-old tradition of serving children with a wide variety of special events and volunteer opportunities.
