Furnace, formerly of Crystal River, Fl. died February 21, 2005 at Altoona Hospital.<br \/>\nHe was born February 9, 1918 in Carrollton, Oh., the son of the late Harry and Nellie (Page) Bond.<br \/>\nHe married Martha (Johnson) Bond who survives.<br \/>\nAlso surviving are one son, Johnny P. Bond and wife Francine, Elwood City, Pa.; one daughter, Moira DeArmit and husband Oscar of Pa. Furnace; grandchildren, LuAnn DeArmit, Johnny II, Christopher, Casey Fry and husband Andy in Atlanta, Erica Bond of Florida, Dominique Newman and husband Fabian of Chicago and two great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Caleb.<br \/>\nMr. Bond was a member of the State College Christian Church. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He served in the US Air Force. He was a member of the 75th troop carrier squadron, earning numerous citations.<br \/>\nHe was a member of American Legion Post 121, Chester W.V., VFW and Kiwanis.<br \/>\nIn 1980 he retired from Columbia Gas after 40 years of service.<br \/>\nMemorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald E. Bond, 87, of Pa.
