Tara Taylor is the recipient of Tyrone Hospital\u2019s Extra Mile Employee Award.
\nTyrone Hospital grants the award on a quarterly basis to an employee who demonstrates exceptional performance.
\nTaylor has been employed at Tyrone Hospital for two years. She assists in a variety of departments including the medical staff office, human resources and quality improvement. She also fills in for the administrative assistant to the CEO as needed.
\nShe has earned a reputation among fellow employees as one who is flexible, adaptable and adept at multitasking.
\nTaylor is a graduate of Tyrone Area High School where her course of study was agriculture and business.
\n\u201cThe business education has been valuable, especially since I assist in a variety of hospital departments,\u201d said Taylor.
\nTaylor said she was surprised and pleased to learn she was the Extra Mile Award recipient and said she wondered who nominated her.
\n\u201cTyrone Hospital is a very positive work environment. It is family-oriented, and the people who work here are willing to help each other,\u201d she said.
\n\u201cThe Extra Mile Employee Award is special because it is driven by hospital employees,\u201d added Walter S. Van Dyke, Chief Executive Officer at Tyrone Hospital. \u201cIt is an honor to recognize employees like Ms. Taylor who have been singled out by their co-workers and recognized for exceptional performance.\u201d
