As summer comes to a close, the Tyrone YMCA prepares fall and winter activities for area residents of all ages.
\nThe fall and winter adult basketball league is accepting final registrations. Anyone interested in registering a team for the league must sign up at the YMCA by today, September 3.
\nIn order to participate in the league, individuals must be in at least ninth grade.
\nAll fees must be paid at the time of registration. Cost to register a team is $280 plus a $50 forfeit fee which will be refunded if there are no forfeits.
\nLeague games will be played on Sunday afternoons starting September 12. A captains\u2019 meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 7 at 7 p.m.
\nLooking ahead, there will also be a winter and spring adult basketball league. Registration for winter and spring will begin on December 27 and run through January 21. Cost is $280 per team with a refundable $50 forfeit fee.
\nGames will be played on Sunday afternoons beginning February 6. The captains\u2019 meeting will be held Tuesday, January 25 at 7 p.m.
\nFor individuals who prefer volleyball, the YMCA will hold a winter adult volleyball league. The league is co-ed. Registration will run from October 1 to October 29. All fees must be paid before a team is registered.
\nCost for the league is $125 per team plus a $50 forfeit fee which will be refunded barring any forfeits.
\nVolleyball games will be played on Monday evenings starting November 8. Captains will meet Tuesday, November 2 at 7 p.m.
