Mrs. Mary Helen Bonsell, 95, of 1057 Logan Ave., Tyrone, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, August 22, 2004 at her residence. She was born November 8, 1908 in Lewisburg, Pa. a daughter of Palmer and Viola (Eddinger) Smith.
\nShe was married February 10, 1925 at Cumberland, Md. to Clair William \u201cSammy\u201d Bonsell who died July 20, 1958.
\nShe is survived by three sons and three daughters, Bill Bonsell (Georgeanna) of Altoona, Donnie Bonsell (Shirley) of Tyrone, Audrey Dawson of Altoona, Loretta States (Ronald) of Tyrone, Palmer \u201cMannie\u201d Bonsell (Rose) of Altoona and Sharon Kock (Jim) of Altoona, twenty-three grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 22 great great-grandchildren, a brother Clarence Smith of Pennsylvania and a sister Ruth Iles of Danville, Pa.
\nShe was preceded in death by a son David, a daughter Florence, brother Palmer and sisters Loretta and Florence.
\nShe retired in 1976 as a cook at Epworth Manor after 10 years service.
\nFuneral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Joyce Drennine officiating. Interment will be at Grazierville Cemetery.
