Mrs. Vera Mae Schopp, 84, of 727 W. 16th Street, Tyrone died at 11:55 a.m., Friday, June 11, 2004 at Epworth Manor.
\nShe was born February 10, 1920 in Altoona, a daughter of Walter J. and Ethel (Packer) Burket.
\nShe was married March 25, 1939 to Leo L. Schopp, recently celebrating 65 years of marriage.
\nShe is survived by her husband, two daughters and two sons: Judith Ann Schopp, Tyrone; Noreen Lisa Leeper and husband James, Tyrone; David Allen Schopp and wife Levoy, Tyrone and James W. Schopp and wife Shelby of Huntingdon.
\nSix grandchildren: David L. Schopp, Denise A. Sprankle, James W. Schopp, Eric Mannino, Sarah Leeper and Elizabeth Leeper.
\nAlso, eight great grandchildren, one sister and three brothers: Eleanor L. Berkstresser Clark and Wallace Arthur Burkett, both of Tyrone. Also, Chalmer Owen Burket, Tacoma, WA and Alton Leslie Burket of Lancaster.
\nShe was preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Jane McEwen and Verna Jean Langenbacher and a brother, Ray Stanley Burket.
\nShe was a member of the Tyrone Church of the Good Shepherd and was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1937.
\nShe was a homemaker, enjoyed her family, sewing and cooking.
\nFuneral services will be held Monday, June 14, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Reverend Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will be at Burket Cemetery, R.D., Warriors Mark.
\nFriends will be received at the funeral home one hour before the services on Monday.
