Sue O\u2019Brien has been sewing forever! Theatrically, however, she\u2019s only been behind the needle of her sewing machine for about 15 years.
\n\u201cThe first show I did by myself was \u2018Grease\u2019 for the Tyrone High School in 1992,\u201d she said, remembering the chaos. \u201cI\u2019ve done so many shows for TCP (Tyrone Community Players), both by myself and as part of a team, that I can\u2019t recall them all.\u201d
\nO\u2019Brien is currently costuming the cast of \u201cA Closer Walk with Patsy Cline\u201d which will be presented at the Tyrone Elks Lodge August 9, 10, and 11. Thursday will be the show only and the Friday and Saturday shows are dinner theatre presentations.
\n\u201cMy very favorite show has always been \u2018Oklahoma\u2019 and I got to costume that one when TCP did it a couple of years ago,\u201d O\u2019Brien said. \u201cI really enjoyed last spring\u2019s \u2018Suessical\u2019 \u2013 that was a fun show because imagination played such a key in costuming.\u201d
\nAt Monday\u2019s rehearsal, O\u2019Brien completed measuring the newest member of Patsy Cline\u2019s back-up quartet. Mary Ann Kurtz joins Ron Hildebrand, Bill O\u2019Brien and Patrick Stalter, backing up Kate Coltabaugh who is reprising her role as Patsy Cline.
\nMary Ann Kurtz sings with Tyrone\u2019s Wesley Church choir, participates on the Chicago Rivet Relay for Life team, and has sung in two of the TCP cabaret shows. Mary Ann was last seen in \u201cA Christmas Caroled.\u201d Additionally, she sang in many other TCP productions, including \u201cTaffeta Memories\u201d and \u201cOkalahoma.\u201d
