{"id":44884,"date":"2004-03-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2004-03-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2004-03-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2004-03-11T00:00:00","slug":"Northern-Blair-County-Regional-Sewer-Authority-awards-bids-for-Snyder-Township-projects;-projects-to-begin-in-April","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=44884","title":{"rendered":"Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority awards bids for Snyder Township projects; projects to begin in April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The quest of the Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority took another giant step forward this week in its vision to bring sewage service to more than 65 homes in the outlying areas of Snyder Township.<br \/>\nAccording to NBCRSA member Ray Amato, Guyer Brothers Inc. of New Enterprise was awarded a $573,308 contract to extend sewage service to 34 homes in the Cooks Hollow area.<br \/>\nHe said Export\u2019s Kukurin Contracting was awarded the bid to extend service to 13 homes in Tyrone Forge and 19 homes in Ironville.<br \/>\nAccording to Amato, before the Tyrone Forge project moves forward, the state Department of Environmental Protection must give its approval.<br \/>\nAmato said the funding for the extension projects were feasible after the authority received a $1.68 million Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority loan in July of 2002.<br \/>\nIn addition, the township received a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to help defray costs of the much-needed project.<br \/>\nThe project in the Tyrone Forge\/Ironville areas will begin sometime in the middle of April and should be completed by mid-August.<br \/>\nAmato said the Cooks Hollow section probably wouldn\u2019t be complete until the end of November or early December.<br \/>\n\u201cWe\u2019re happy about awarding these bids so we can get these projects going,\u201d said Amato.<br \/>\n\u201cAnytime we can extend sewage service we see it as a positive for the community.\u201d<br \/>\nAmato noted that NBCRSA is examining the possibilties of providing sewage service to the Pinecroft, Riggles Gap and Sugar Run Hollow areas of Antis Township.<br \/>\nHe said he hopes these projects can come to the surface in the next few years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The quest of the Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority took another giant step forward this week in its vision to bring sewage service to more than 65 homes in the outlying areas of Snyder Township.
