At the regular meeting held Monday morning, Snyder Township supervisors discussed the issue of employee identification badges further.
\nThere were two options supervisors had to choose from for the badges, a one-sided ID which costs $10 for each township employee, and a two-sided ID which costs $15 each. The supervisors approved for secretary Viola Dysart to purchase the one-sided IDs.
\nIt was also discussed if it was necessary for the township code enforcement officer and the township sanitary enforcement officer to carry badges.
\nIf so, the prices for a code enforcement officer badge with identification would cost the township $85.45 and a badge with identification for the sanitary enforcement officer would cost the township $76.50.
\nSupervisors decided that both the code enforcement officer and the sanitary enforcement officer will carry the IDs that are issued to all township employees instead of going to the extra expense of purchasing the extra badges.
\nTalk of township employee IDs began at the February meeting in light of the recent scams in Tyrone Borough where individuals were entering homes on the premise of being Water Authority employees.
\n It was at the February meeting that the board approved for Dysart to order IDs for all township employees.
\nIn other news, supervisors:
\n\u2022 approved a request for a fire protection audit from Tyrone Borough;
\n\u2022 denied a request of a donation of $50 for the Pennsylvania Economy League to help defray the cost of preparing and distributing research and related materials by its group;
\n\u2022 took no action on approving or denying the $50 fee for Snyder Township to join the Appalachian Thruway Association;
\n\u2022 elected supervisor Jim Chronister to attend the Altoona City Authority meeting on March 9 at the ABCD Corporation to discuss public relations, security and updates on the Authority projects;
\n\u2022 approved Altoona City Authority\u2019s request for the township to complete forms concerning the Watershed Protection Audit by EADS;
\n\u2022 approved the sub-recipient agreement with the Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority;
\n\u2022 approved to pay Terry Eaken from Phase II of the HOME Grant for the first payment of Project No. 14 in the amount of $4,927; approved to pay Eaken from Phase II of the HOME Grant for the second payment of Project No. 14 in the amount of $4,927; approved to pay Eaken from Phase II of the HOME Grant for first payment for Project No. 19 in the amount of $4,965 and approved to pay Eaken from Phase II of the HOME Grant for second payment of Project No. 19 in the amount of $4,965;
\n\u2022 approved tax collector Nancy Kilmartin\u2019s request that the township pay for the full cost of the new tax collecting software package; and
