The Tyrone Area YMCA has found perfect fundraisers for the holiday season, clothing and food, something everyone needs.
\nSports apparel is available for purchase as a fundraiser for the YMCA at the Old Dollar General Store on 10th Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, and the YMCA is also offering a variety of grapefruit, oranges and other fruits through its annual Indian River Fruit sale.
\nEvery Saturday, a member of the YMCA staff is on-hand at the Old Dollar General Store to sell sweatshirts, flannels, thermals, sweaters, long sleeve T-shirts, short sleeve T-shirts, tank tops, turtle necks, sweat pants and more.
\nSome of the clothing is Penn State apparel. However, there is also a variety of other brands to make nearly everyone happy.
\nSizes of clothing range from small, medium, large, extra-large, and extra-extra large. The best part about the variety of clothing is that it is available for a very affordable price.
\nThe money raised from the clothing goes towards the general fund of the Tyrone YMCA.
\nAlso, members of the YMCA board voted to donate 10 percent of the money raised through the clothing fundraiser to the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Fund.
\nThe clothing will be available every Saturday until the week before Christmas. It will then be determined after the holiday season if the fundraiser will continue.
\nDirector of the Tyrone YMCA, Amy Hampton, said the clothing was donated to the YMCA by John and Sue Gummo through Rose Black.
\nBlack is also responsible for allowing the YMCA to utilize the Old Dollar General Store building for the fundraiser.
\nAccording to Hampton, it has been a successful fundraiser so far for the YMCA, raising approximately $2,000.
\nThe YMCA is also in full swing with its annual Indian River Fruit sale.
\n Leidig\u2019s Farm from Warrior\u2019s Mark will be supplying fresh citrus fruit from the Indian River area of Florida.
\n\u201cWe are pleased to be working with a local supplier, and we are looking forward to another successful fruit sale,\u201d said Hampton.
\nTypes of fruit available are: pink grapefruit, tangelos, navel oranges, mixed bushels, fruit baskets and red\/yellow delicious apples.
\nThe delivery date for the fruit to the YMCA is scheduled for the week before Christmas.

\nIn other YMCA news, according to Hampton, the youth dance held Saturday, October 25 was a success.
