Today, Republican U.S. Congressional Candidate Michael DelGrosso addressed the public admission made by a spokesman for Congressman Shuster that a Shuster staff member was in-fact engaged in surveillance of DelGrosso\u2019s home in Tipton, Pennsylvania.
\n\u201cWhen I decided to run, I realized that I was opening myself up to constant attacks and other unseemly conduct from my opponent. But neighbors and their children should never have to worry about being harassed or having their neighborhood disrupted by the unethical and possibly illegal activities that took place,\u201d DelGrosso said.
\nThe admission was published in The Huntingdon Daily News today. The article was written as a result of a letter to the editor that was submitted by several members of the neighborhood in which DelGrosso lives.
\nIn the letter residents expressed their outrage at the disturbance the incident caused. The letter stated that parents would not allow their children to walk through the neighborhood and that several innocent citizens were forced to alter their lives out of fear. Neither DelGrosso nor his staff knew of the surveillance until after neighbors discovered that the driver of the vehicle worked for Shuster.
\nDelGrosso is disappointed by the conduct of Shuster and his staff.
\n\u201cWe have real problems that need attention, unemployment, healthcare and homeland security, but Bill Shuster is focusing his attention instead on what is going on in my neighborhood. Bill Shuster should be ashamed of himself and should apologize to these families.
