Hollidaysburg proved to be a rude guest at the Tyrone tennis courts on Wednesday, shutting out the Tyrone Lady Eagles\u2019 tennis team 7-0.
\nThe Golden Tigers breezed through the singles matches losing only two games, then edged both Tyrone doubles teams 9-7 to hand the Lady Eagles number one team Hilary McNelis and Missy Stager, their first loss of the year, and 8-4 over the number two duo of Emily Fitzgerald and Beth Nelson.
\n\u201cIt was a beautiful day for tennis,\u201d lamented Tyrone tennis coach Charles Fitzgerald. \u201cWe just didn\u2019t have enough energy for this team!\u201d
\nTyrone (1-7) plays Grier School at Birmingham on Tuesday, in a non-league match, then hosts State College in Mountain League play on Wednesday. Both matches are set for 3 p.m.
