{"id":45899,"date":"2003-09-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2003-09-15T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2003-09-15T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2003-09-15T00:00:00","slug":"Weather-didn\u2019t-dampen-spirits-at-Farm-City-Day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=45899","title":{"rendered":"Weather didn\u2019t dampen spirits at Farm City Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite Saturday\u2019s gloomy weather at Reservoir Park, the 18th annual Farm City Day was considered a success for all those in attendance.<br \/>\nThe event was the largest fundraiser the Tyrone Rotary Club had all year, and other area groups and organizations joined in the day with numerous displays, crafts and food.<br \/>\nEven a 2003 Farm City Day T-shirt was designed to celebrate the event.<br \/>\nThe amphitheater area was full of entertainment, activity and fun for all ages. Performers for the day included: the Schell Run Band, Dennie Huber magician and balloon artist, and Big Mac-N-Fries.<br \/>\nA live petting zoo delighted the children, with animals provided by Larry Morrissey, Deb Romano, Sam Weaver and Mike Hoover. Also, families enjoyed hay wagon rides through Reservoir Park, provided by Bill Hoover. An equipment display was set up for view of a John Deere combine provided by Gary Long and a tractor provided by John Espy.<br \/>\nThe amphitheater area was fenced off for the day to provide extra protection to children who participated in activities, and the area was supervised by members of the First Emmanuel Baptist Church.<br \/>\nJust some of the fun games that were provided for the children this year included a dunking machine, a big jungle bounce in the shape of a Dalmatian and a giant sand box.<br \/>\nArea residents enjoyed walking around the park, sampling all kinds of food from chicken barbecue dinners to baked goods and checking out displays at different booths from folkart crafts to floral arrangements.<br \/>\nApproximately 30 food vendors and 60 crafts\/display vendors were on hand at Farm City  Day to make it a such a success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite Saturday\u2019s gloomy weather at Reservoir Park, the 18th annual Farm City Day was considered a success for all those in attendance.
