The Tyrone girls volleyball team evened their record at 1-1 on Wednesday night defeating Bellefonte three games to none.
\nThe Lady Eagles won 25-23, 25-18 and 25-13 with Katie Whitby scoring 16 service points and adding nine assists. Sara Mease had 14 digs and Emily Lloyd contributed three blocks. Jeri Harper also had 11 service points for Tyrone.
\n \u201cIt was a big win not only for this team, but for the program itself,\u201d said Tyrone coach Dave Eckberg. \u201cWe are now in a league with some teams that have very good volleyball traditions; Bellefonte being one of them. It’s nice to see that we can compete on that level when we play to our potential. We limited our mistakes and played well defensively, but we still need to be able to generate more offense.\u201d
\nThe Lady Eagles Jayvees defeated Bellefonte two games to one, 20-25, 25-14, 15-11. The TAHS Junior Varsity also improves to 1-1.
