Country recording artist Joe Diffie will perform two concerts at DelGrosso\u2019s Amusement Park this Sunday.
\nDiffie will perform at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. There will also be a Blair County antique auto show that day.
\nJoe Logan Diffie was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was immersed in music from a young age. His first public performance came in his aunt\\’s country band when he was only four. It was song writing, interestingly enough, that lured Diffie to Nashville after his song \\”Love On The Rocks\\” was recorded by Hank Thompson.
\nDiffie found work in the Nashville-area Gibson guitar plant and soon established himself as one of Music Row\\’s top demo singers.
\nAfter making the transition from demo singer to major label recording artist, Diffie\u2019s early hits like \\”Home,\\” \\”If You Want Me To, \\”If The Devil Danced In Empty Pockets,\\” and \\”New Way To Light Up An Old Flame\\” established Diffie as one of country music\\’s foremost balladeers.
\nAs his career progressed, Diffie began flashing a more playful side on up-tempo smashes like \\”John Deere Green,\\” \\”Third Rock From The Sun,\\” \\”Bigger Than The Beatles\\” and \\”Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die).\\” Over the course of the nineties, Diffie used his steady radio success to build a solid fan base while notching his belt with 17 top 10 hits, two platinum albums and two gold albums.
\nDelGrosso\u2019s Amusement Park is excited to welcome Diffie to the stage this weekend.
\nOther country concerts held at the park included American Idol contestant Josh Gracin, along with Jimmy Wayne, Mark Wills and Blake Shelton, to mention a few. Earlier this summer, Kentucky Headhunters performed for a large crowd of country music fans.
\nAnother large crowd is expected for Diffie\u2019s concert.
\nAdmission to the concert and parking are free to the public. Individuals are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and settle in for an exciting afternoon and evening of entertainment.
\nThere\u2019s even more music planned for later this summer as Jeff Bates will take the stage August 5 and Ronnie McDowell is set to perform September 30.
\nThere is also Free Christian concerts planned for Sunday, September 2 during Frontline Ministries Youthfest Weekend as Sanctus Real is set to perform two concerts.
\nOther events planned for this summer include the Bellwood-Antis Community Picnic and all-class reunion on July 20 and the Native American Pow Wow, which is slated for July 21 and 22 and Tyrone Community day is set for August 3.
