Mrs. Betty Jane Harper, age 87, a guest at Epworth Manor and formerly of Bald Eagle died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 12:50 a.m. at the Manor.
\nShe was born May 1, 1920 in Tyrone, the daughter of Arthur L. and Mabel C. Burford Woomer and on February 10, 1944 in Altoona she was married to Robert D. Harper who preceded her in death April 11, 1988.
\nShe is survived by two sons: Allen and wife Elaine Harper of Pennington Road, Tyrone and Gary and wife Ann Harper of the Pennsylvania House, Tyrone; one granddaughter, Mindy, wife of Randy Persi of Irwin, Pa. and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Dr. James Woomer, Robert Woomer and an infant brother.
\nMrs. Harper was a member of the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. She had been employed as a clerk at Fink\u2019s Hardware, retiring in 1985. She particularly enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping, often at the Liberty Sportsman Campground in Howard.
\nFuneral service for Betty Jane Harper will be Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Michele Sommerville officiating. Interment will follow in Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
