The developer for the proposed methadone clinic in Antis Township approached the Northern Blair Regional Sewer Authority at its meeting yesterday afternoon in search of sewage taps for the facility. The NBRSA is unable to grant the taps needed for the facility.
\nRob Simington, the developer for the clinic to be run by Alliance Medical, a Pittsburgh company, told the board that he talked with Brent Brubaker of the Logan Township Sewer Authority and he told Simington that all he needed was a letter from the NBRSA and the taps would be ready to go.
\nAccording to NBRSA secretary\/treasurer Leo Matuszewski, that is not the case.
\n\u201cWe are waiting for Logan Township to lift (its) ban on multiple taps,\u201d said Matuszewski. \u201cRight now we can only add one tap at a time until Logan Township gets the approval from the Department of Environmental Protection to open the new addition to its system.\u201d
\nSimington reiterated what Brubaker said, \u201cput it in writing and they\u2019ll sign off.\u201d
\nFollowing minutes of discussion, Matuszewski and the board agreed to have its solicitor, Peter McManamon, contact the Logan Township Authority and come up with a solution.
\nSimington wanted one tap for the clinic, but NBRSA Engineer Jason Moore said the capacity needed for the clinic would be four taps. With the ban on multiple taps, it keeps the authority from granting Simington\u2019s request.
