{"id":46506,"date":"2003-06-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2003-06-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2003-06-09T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2003-06-09T00:00:00","slug":"Floating-debris-dangerous-to-boating-at-Raystown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=46506","title":{"rendered":"Floating debris dangerous to boating at Raystown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Corps of Engineers is issuing an alert to all boaters and swimmers at Raystown Lake.<br \/>\nAccording to Park Ranger Tara Lehman, the rains in Huntingdon and Bedford counties over the past several days have caused the rivers and creeks that feed Raystown Lake to rise.<br \/>\nWith the increased volume of water, an abundance of debris has washed into the lake.<br \/>\nCurrently, all boat ramps remain open, however, please exhibit caution while operating your vessel because sometimes the debris floats just below the surface.<br \/>\nBecause of heavy debris, the Tatman Run beach has been temporarily closed, effective June 7. It will remain closed until the debris is removed and Corps personnel deem conditions safe. However, all swimmers are welcome at the Seven Points Beach.<br \/>\nMost of the debris is natural and it will either sink or be pushed by winds and boat activity into covers were it will be addressed during the Raystown Lake Annual Clean-up Day, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30.<br \/>\nOnce again, caution is issued to all boaters and swimmers.<br \/>\nThe use of other boats launches and recreation areas at Raystown Lake is encouraged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Corps of Engineers is issuing an alert to all boaters and swimmers at Raystown Lake.
