\nThe Vaccine for Children Program was implemented in 1994 to increase vaccine coverage levels in public and private providers. Vaccines are provided free of charge to eligible children up to 18 years of age. Children are eligible for the program if they are Medicaid enrolled, without health insurance, American Indian or Alaskan Native, or have health insurance that does not cover vaccines.
\nThe Vaccine for Children Program of the Pennsylvania Department of Health focuses on the elimination or control of vaccine-preventable diseases. The program provides vaccines for specific diseases that affect infants, children, and adolescents.
