Mr. L. Allen Fink, age 77 of Bald Eagle, RD#3 Tyrone, died Monday, March 3, 2003 at 9:30 p.m. at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
\nHe was born June 17, 1925 at Northwood, the son of David and Clara Fink. On December 16, 1957, at the Evangelical United Brethern Church in Tyrone, he was married to Jane Wolf who survives.
\nAlso surviving are three children. Aileen Kay, wife of Lawrence Pellegrini of Tyrone, Lawrence A. Fink II of Lock Haven and David Crawford Fink of West Hazelton and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Pellegrini of Steelton and Phillip Allen Pellegrini of Tyrone.
\nHe was the last of his immediate family.
\nMr. Fink was a 1944 graduate of Tyrone High School and retired in 1990 from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier at the Tyrone Post Office after 31 years of service.
\nHe was a US Army veteran in the Signal Corps serving in the European Theatre druing World War II.
\nHe was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, was the Cub Master of Pack 27 of Tyrone from 1967-1987, was a member of the Troop Committee of Troop 24 of Tyrone and was a member of the Penns Woods Council.
\nHe was a member of the Anderson Denny Post #4559 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the AmVets, a life member of the Bald Eagle Fire Company, a member of the Antique Auto Club of America and the Antique Auto Club of America, Allegheny Mountain Region.
\nHe was a member of the Railroaders Memorial Museum of Altoona, a member of the Camp Anderson Trustees and was a driver for Church Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, the Men\u2019s Sunday School Class, a former trustee, ushers association, church choir, the Otterbein Men\u2019s Glee Club and for many years a Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed coin collecting, stamp collecting, model trains and woodworking.
\nFuneral service for Mr. Fink will be held Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Peggy Bonsell and Rev. Dr. Dennis Reedy officiating. Interment will be in Bald Eagle Cemetery.
\nFriends may call the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home today from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m.
