Gummo, director of Human Resources\/Risk Management Coordinator of Tyrone Hospital, will be admitted to Member status in the American College of Healthcare Executives on March 16, 2003.<br \/>\nFounded in 1933, ACHE is an international professional society representing nearly 30,000 healthcare executives. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career development, publications, research, and public policy, ACHE works towards its goal of improving the health status of society by advancing the healthcare management excellence.<br \/>\nGummo is originally from Eighty Four, 25 miles south of Pittsburgh. She currently resides in Warriors Mark with her husband Jamie Gummo, formerly of Bellwood.<br \/>\nShe graduated in 1998 from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, then went back in 2002 to C.U.P. to attain her Masters of Arts in Teaching.<br \/>\nPrior to Gummo\u2019s employment at Tyrone Hospital in September 2001, she worked in the Washington County Human Resource Department as a Human Resources Generalist. Currently at Tyrone, she is a member of the Senior Management Team, along with being the Director of Human Resources\/Risk Management Coordinator.<br \/>\nIn March 2003, Gummo will begin a program to get certified in Risk Management.<br \/>\n\u201cI feel very proud and honored that I was able to get into the professional society,\u201d said Gummo. \u201cI feel it\u2019s going to be a strong contribution to Tyrone Hospital.\u201d<br \/>\nMember status is the first level of professional achievement in ACHE. Members must demonstrate their educational preparation and commitment to the healthcare field through an extensive application process. Member status provides a path for advancing to Diplomate status.<br \/>\nDiplomate status is achieved after meeting application requirements and passing an extensive written examination. Fellow status, the highest level of professional achievement, may be attained after a specified number of years of service as a Diplomate, continuing professional development, demonstration of leadership and community service, and completion of an original, detailed project by the candidate.<br \/>\n\u201cOver time what you have to do is complete certain credentials, and of course, it\u2019s a time factor where you have to put in so many years at a certain level,\u201d said Gummo. \u201cEventually, I would like to move up through the professional society.\u201d<br \/>\nThe American College of Healthcare Executives requires extensive credentials for individuals to be accepted. ACHE is a professional society dedicated to the highest standards of executive performance, the promulgation of continuing education for improved administration, and the betterment of patient care through the efficient management of hospitals and related health facilities and services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kimberly M.
