{"id":47770,"date":"2002-11-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2002-11-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2002-11-26T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2002-11-26T00:00:00","slug":"Tree-of-Light-ceremony-just-one-week-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=47770","title":{"rendered":"Tree of Light ceremony just one week away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In just seven short days, the Tyrone Hospital Development Council will illuminate the Tree of Light in the lobby of the Tyrone Hospital.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Tree of Light is an opportunity for the community and the hospital to connect during a season when we are all remembering loved ones and celebrating life,\u201d said Randy Miles Sr., chairman of THDC. \u201cThe event gives people an opportunity to express their sentiment and at the same time, help others by supporting the Tyrone Hospital. The event has definitely grown since it was launched last year, based on the participation and contributions from a variety of businesses, organizations and individuals.\u201d<br \/>\nThe ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday. Everyone is encouraged to attend.<br \/>\nAccording to Theresa Yanchetz, marketing director at Tyrone Hospital, the ceremony will open with comments from Judith Norris, president of the hospital\u2019s board of directors; Thomas Bartlett, chief executive officer; and Miles.<br \/>\nFollowing the comments, Pastor Terryann Talbot Moses, president of the Tyrone Area Cooperative Ministries, will deliver a spiritual message and bless the trees.<br \/>\nVocal selections will be provided by the St. Matthew\u2019s School Choir led by choral director Karen Mayhew.<br \/>\nThe ceremony concludes when Pastor Talbot-Moses signals for the lighting of the exterior tree.<br \/>\n\u201cEveryone is welcome to attend a reception immediately following the light ceremony,\u201d said Yanchetz. \u201cThe reception will be held in the main lobby of the hospital. Refreshments will be provided.\u201d<br \/>\nFor months, members of THDC have been asking community businesses and individuals to help with the cause. Numerous businesses have established donation boxes in their offices, sponsored \u201cdress down days,\u201d or other events that help raise funds. Individuals have had and will continue to have the opportunity to purchase paper angels that will highlight a name of a loved one or other individual. These angels will be placed on the Tree of Light.<br \/>\nAll funds raised will be used to assist Tyrone Hospital with the expenses associated with the installation and purchase of a new CT scanner.<br \/>\nIndividuals wishing to purchase a gift of light may do so by submitting their donation and a completed \u201cTree of Light\u201d gift form to the Development Council office at Tyrone Hospital. Tree of Light gift forms are available in the lobby of the hospital and the following businesses: Kelly Wike-State Farm Insurance, OIP Restaurant and Tyrone Medical Associates.
