What makes the sixty-sixth annual Bellwood-Antis Community Farm Show special is its people &#8211; the Bellwood community.<br \/>\nSeptember 3 through 7 will be slated by exciting festivities and exhibits at Bellwood Community Park. Admission is free and the public is more than welcomed to attend. Concession stands operated by various community organizations will keep stomach\u2019s full at the show every evening.<br \/>\nOpening day, Tuesday, exhibits will be accepted from noon until 8 p.m. in all departments. Baked goods will also be accepted on Wednesday morning from 8 until 10 a.m. Entries arriving after these times will not be judged, but may be placed on exhibition.<br \/>\nTo kick off festivities on Tuesday, there will be the Operation Lifesaver Exhibit from 3 to 6 p.m. The Conrail exhibit emphasizes safety near the tracks. A turkey calling contest will also take place Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Registration for this event will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the stage area of the farm show tent.<br \/>\nThe show will be closed for judging from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, but there will be the Garden Tractor Driving Contest from 3 to 5 p.m., along with the 4H Rabbit Round-Up from 5 to 7 p.m. A D.J. and entertainment will be provided from 6 to 9 p.m.<br \/>\nThursday begins the Farmer\u2019s Market which lasts through Saturday. A Home Demonstration will take place from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Bellwood-Antis community members will show their abilities and share their secrets for projects in and around the house. A Spelling Bee will be held for B-A students of all ages. The evening will host a band concert at 6:30 p.m. by the high school band and other musical groups.<br \/>\nOn Friday there will be the Homemade Soup Contest at 3 p.m. followed by a Homemade Soup Sale at 4 p.m. The Pet Parade is slated for 5 p.m. to show off your favorite pet. Students from Andrea\u2019s School of Dance will hold a presentation at 5:30 p.m. D.J. and entertainment will be provided again from 6 to 9 p.m.<br \/>\nSaturday\u2019s festivities offers an Archery Contest at 9 a.m. followed by a Floral and Landscape Design Competition at 9 a.m. There will be a 4H Horse Show from 10 to 3 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m., a Chicken Barbecue will be held. Exhibitors winning prize money can sign for and pick up their premium checks at 6 p.m.<br \/>\nOn Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. there will be an auction. Exhibits are removed after 6 p.m. Articles not removed by 7 p.m. will be consigned to the auction. Exhibitors are encouraged to leave some entries behind for the auction and for the benefit of the show.<br \/>\nThere will be some special contests for people to participate in through the week such as the Hershey\u2019s Greatest Cocoa Contest, PA Produce Simply Delicious Vegetable Quick Bread Competition, Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest, Farm Show Color Contest, Homemade Quilting Contest, Fun Safety Poster Contest, and the Homemade Soup Contest.<br \/>\nNew events for this year\u2019s Community Farm Show include: Red, White, and Blue Patriotic Competition, Turkey Calling Competition, and a Sculptured Baked Goods Contest. Anyone may sign up to participate in these contests and competitions.ss<br \/>\nThe 2002 Bellwood-Antis Community Farm Show looks to be another fun-filled week of festivities and exhibits for all to enjoy and partake in. There is something for everyone and that\u2019s what makes the Farm Show a success year in and year out.
