Tyrone’s Lady Eagle Volleyball team lost to Indian Valley Thursday night in three straight games 25-6,25-13, and 25-12.
\nThe Tyrone team did not go down without a fight as almost every point was the result of a long volley.
\nJess Thomas led Tyrone with seven service points and Suzanne Zimmerman had six service points.
\nAshley Patton recorded her first kill of the year coming back from surgery, and Kristin Gearhart added two kills of her own. Kassie Gardner and Kristen Fry had three digs apiece and kept the rally alive most of the night.
\n\u201cWe might be losing but it is not from lack of effort,\u201d Coach Jim Cushion stated, \u201cWe are definitely getting better.\u201d
\nTyrone’s JV team won their second game of the year, winning game two, 25-19 but lost the match in the third game 15-5.
\nRebecca Fry was the hero in game two with 12 service points keeping the Indian Valley junior varsity off balance with pinpoint serves. Alexa Haverstadt had two kills on the night and the JayVee team keeps getting better.
