Keeping the streak going, the Tyrone Area High School junior varsity football team won their fifth straight game by lowering the boom on Lewistown 39-0, on the losers\u2019 field on Monday evening.
\nAfter a scoreless opening quarter, the Eagles took the lead with the only score of the first half, when Zach Burke capped a drive with a six-yard run.
\nIn the third quarter, the Eagles blew the game open by scoring four times.
\nStevie Franco blasted one yard for a touchdown, and Kyle Ripka added the extra point kick, forthe first score. Ripka then grabbed a 39-yard pass from Nick Patton for a score, and Burke added runs of 17, and five for touchdowns, and Ripka kicked the PAT following Burke\u2019s 17-yard score, to complete the 26-point explosion in the quarter.
\nIn the fourth quarter, Burke, who rushed for 129 yards in the contest, added his fourth touchdown on a 41-yard jaunt, and Ripka booted the perfect placement.
\nThe Tyrone defensive unit tossed their fourth shutout of the year, for the Golden Eagles, and intercepted five Lewistown passes, including two by Franco.
