The Tyrone Junior Varsity Baseball Team visited Spring Mills to play Penns Valley on Monday afternoon for its second regularly scheduled game of the 2008 Campaign.
\nThe Golden Eagles pounded out nine hits and scored seven runs to earn the victory over the Rams by a score of 7 to 5 and even their record at 1-1.
\nThree Tyrone players each had two hits a piece, including Korry Cowher, Jeremy Miller and Derrick Dasher.
\nJared Templeton, Ian Murray, and A.J. Welsh each recorded a hit a piece in the contest.
\nIan Murray also laid down a perfect bunt to score a run early in the contest.
\nKerry Cosher earned the pitching victory for the Golden Eagles going six complete innings while allowing only one run on five hits and fanning nine Penns Valley batters.
\nRobbie Marlette and Jarred Templeton also made some solid defensive plays at shortstop and first base.
\nTrevor Jackson came in to close the deal in the seventh inning, and did so only after several errors and a handful of \u201cTexas League\u201d hits.
