\nIt\u2019s that time of year again when everyone begins to look forward to the opening game of football season.
\nWhile it\u2019s still summer vacation for school students, the opening match-up between Tyrone and Bellwood-Antis\u00a0 is just around the corner.
\nThe younger kids in the area are also looking forward to their own season. Those who have yet to sign up, still have a chance to participate in Pee Wee and Youth football this season.
\nFinal registration for the 2008 youth football season will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday, July 15 and 16 at the Joshua House, located on 10th Street in Tyrone from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
\nThe registration fee is $30. For families with two children, the fee is $40. This must be paid at the time of registration.
\nThere are several registration requirements to keep in mind.
\nFor Pee Wee football players:
\n\u2022 Must be seven years old as of 9\/1\/2008;
\n\u2022 May not be 10 years old as of 9\/1\/2008 and
\n\u2022 Must weigh less than 130 pounds. at tryouts, which will be held in August.
\nPlayers who weigh over 130 pounds may elect to play youth football.
\nRegistration requirements for youth football are as follows:
\n\u2022 May not be 14 as of 9\/1\/2008 or entering the 8th grade.
\nThere is no weight limit for youth football.
\nDue to insurance purposes, there will be absolutely no exceptions to these requirements.
