This Christmas season marks the 27th year the Tyrone Moose will provide a free, catered Christmas meal for local elderly, shut-ins and anyone in need.
Last year, the Moose prepared, served in-house, and delivered over 300 meals to individuals in the Tyrone and Bellwood areas, and the number of meal requests increases each year.
“The elderly citizens and shut-ins really enjoy this Christmas dinner, and many appreciate this local holiday tradition,” said Joseph R. McMullen, administrator.
The Moose is looking for donations of any food items that can be used to prepare a traditional Christmas dinner, or a monetary donation, which will enable them to purchase items that will be needed to complete this holiday meal.
The donations and support received from local businesses and individuals enable the Moose Lodge to provide this holiday meal.
The Tyrone Moose Lodge will be open to the public, with walk-ins welcome, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Christmas day. Delivery is available by calling 684-4370.
