The first show in the exciting and innovative new season for the Tyrone Community Players is the poignant, madcap comedy, The Octette Bridge Club.
On alternate Friday evenings, eight sisters meet to play bridge and gossip.
The first act takes place in 1934 and the show spans a decade following the growth, idiosyncrasies and eccentricities of these eight very distinctly individual women.
Auditions for this remarkable performance opportunity for women are set for Sunday and Monday, August 3 and 4 in The Building, home of the TCP, located at 1019 Logan Ave., Tyrone, under the direction of Jim McDonald.
The cast consists of one man and eight women.
All roles in this delightful play are open and everyone is encouraged to audition. Experience is not necessary, just a desire to perform.
“I am scheduling auditions on an individual basis, one person at a time,” says McDonald. “No pressure to read in front of a room filled with other actors. It will just be me and someone to read with you. I believe this relieves some of the audition stress and will help actors and actresses with less experience audition on an equal footing.”
To schedule an audition please phone Jim McDonald at 684-1168.
Auditions will be scheduled between 7 and 9:30 p.m. both evenings with call backs, if necessary, scheduled for the following Monday, August 11 at 7 p.m.
Scripts for perusal purposes are available by phoning the ArtsLine at 684-ART2 or Jim at 684-1168.
