Tyrone Area School District officials announced there will be a special informational meeting held tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the Middle School Large Group Instruction Room.
Due to the recent rumors of a possible school security breach, the meeting is planned to provide information regarding the school district’s emergency/crisis procedures to parents, guardians and Tyrone community members.
The Pennsylvania State Police will be present to participate in the presentation and time will be allotted for a question-answer period.
A letter was previously sent home to announce the meeting and also to let everyone know the district has created email list servers for the elementary, middle and high school.
Those who subscribe to the mailings will periodically receive news, notices and other items of general interest. The lists will also be used in emergency situations, along with the procedures currently in place such as AlertNow telephone calls, television and radio announcements.
Everyone is invited to subscribe to a list. Interested individuals need to send an email to the appropriate address: hsnews-subscribe@lists.tyrone.k12.pa.us (high school); msnews-subscribe@lists.tyrone.k12.pa.us (middle school) and elemnews-subscribe@lists.tyrone.k12.pa.us (elementary school). A confirmation email will be sent out which needs to be replied to within five days to activate a subscription.
To subscribe to multiple lists, send a separate email to each address.
Everyone is encouraged to attend this informational meeting to learn more about Tyrone’s emergency procedures.
