A household hazardous waste collection will take place on June 7 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Blair County Highway Garage, which is located at 620 Loop Road, Hollidaysburg.
This collection is for Blair County residents only, however.
Here is a list of a few waste items that will be accepted: aerosols, corrosive acids and bases, fluorescent light bulbs, used motor oil, paint solvents, poisonous liquids and solids, reactive and non-reactive chemicals and indeterminate chemicals, antifreeze, flammable liquids, solids and adhesives, garden chemicals, oil-based paints (NO latex), organic peroxides, pool chemicals, automotive batteries, herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, oxidizing liquids and solids, and PCB ballast and capacitors.
Any of these items will be permissible, but there is a $10 trunk-load fee. No other items will be accepted, so please bring only permissible items listed. Commercial or institutional establishments’ materials will be taken by appointment only.
