Area Korean War veterans were honored at a service held at Christ United Methodist Church in Tyrone on Sunday. The bugler for Sunday night’s program was Ian Dixon, a senior at Juniata Valley High School. He played Taps at the conclusion of the Korean recognition service. State Rep. Jerry Stern presented medals and certificates to 120 veterans throughout this area, or to a member of their family. The evening included patriotic music and a salute to all branches of the Armed Forces. There were 322 people in attendance. (The Daily Herald/Virgie Werner)
