First English Lutheran Church, located on Logan Avenue and 13th Street, has a lot going on this Christmas season.
The public is invited to join the congregation at any of the Christmas season services.
With Advent services beginning December 1, the congregation asked the question, “What shall we name Him”?
Advent services continue this week and next, Saturday December 15 and 22 at 5 p.m. and also, Sunday, December 16 and 23 at 10:15 a.m. with Children’s Time.
December 15 and 16 the featured name for Jesus will be “Lamb of God” and December 22 and 23, the featured name will be “Immanuel”.
Mid-week services of evening prayer will also be held on Wednesday, December 19 at 7 p.m.
The theme of “What shall we name Him” continues into evening worship as participants learn of the “Prince of Peace”.
Christmas Eve worship at First English Lutheran will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 24.
The candlelight service will feature special music, children’s time, the Sacrament of Holy Communion and many favorite carols.
The first Sunday of Christmas on Sunday, December 30 will feature a service of lessons and carols.
Epiphany service will be Sunday, January 6 featuring the theme “Three Kings and The King”.
Pastor Susan Yatta, along with the congregation at First English Lutheran Church, invite the public to join them for any or all of these special Christmas services as they celebrate the real reason for the season. |
