Penn’s Woods Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of Talus Rock Council have once again teamed up for this year’s “Good Turn Food Drive”.
The “Good Turn Food Drive” is a project to collect canned and packaged foods for those in need.
On November 10, local Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts “invaded” area neighborhoods, armed with bright orange door hangers telling area residents of this food drive.
Tomorrow, beginning at 9 a.m., the scouts will reappear to collect the bags of food for the food bank. Please have the bags on your front porch by 8:30 a.m.
The local food bank is located at the Wesley United Methodist Church on Logan Avenue and 12th Street. Mrs. LeVonne Angelo is the coordinator of the local food bank.
Once again, Kopp Drug will serve as a drop off point for the food bank as well. On pick-up day, there will be a drop off area at Kopp Drug. After Saturday, individuals may drop off donations at Kopp Drug until Thanksgiving.
If any bags are missed, or if people live out of town, donations can be dropped off at Kopp Drug.
Please use this opportunity to help neighbors in need by buying extra groceries and having them ready for collection tomorrow.
Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts from troops sponsored by Church of the Good Shepherd, Bald Eagle United Methodist Church, Warriors Mark United Methodist Church and St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church are working together to perform this needed community service.
