Paul Costa was born and raised in Port Chester, New York. As a high school athlete, he was offered college scholarships in football, basketball and track. Paul elected to play football for the University of Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish, where he was drafted by the Buffalo Bills when he was a junior. After graduation from Notre Dame, Costa played professional football for 10 years, eight years with the Bills and two years in the World Football League.
Paul won a starting job at tight-end his rookie year with the Bills and soon became one of the premier tight ends in the AFL, playing in two Pro Bowls. He moved to offensive tackle in his fifth year with the Bills and became a standout, making All Pro in his second year as a tackle. Costa played with such notables as Jack Kemp and the now infamous O.J. Simpson.
Paul has been in the ministry for 27 years. Sixteen of those years he pastored churches, and the last 11 years, he has traveled and ministered world-wide. Paul holds a B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the California Graduate School of Theology.
