Charles D. DelBaggio, 72, of 310 W. 21 St., Tyrone died Monday, April 16, 2007 at 11:38 p.m. at Altoona Regional Health System-Altoona Hospital Campus following a brief illness.
He was born November 22, 1934 in Tyrone a son of Rocco and Duna (Rich) DelBaggio. He was formerly married to Patricia Campbell who survives in Tyrone.
Surviving are a son Edward G. and wife Jody of Warriors Mark; two grandchildren, Jordan and Michael; five brothers, Edwin of Altoona, Benedict, Rocco Jr. and George all of Tyrone and John of Altoona; two sisters, Nunzie Duginer of Colorado Springs and Mary Hoover of Punxutawney. He was preceded in death by a son Charles II and three brothers, Patsy, Felix and James.
He retired in 1995 from DelBaggio Trucking, Tyrone following 38 years service. He recently was a truck mechanic and repairman for Logan Beverage, Tyrone.
He was a member of the Howard Gardner American Legion, Anderson-Denny VFW, Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Tyrone Elks and the Mosquito Creek Sportsman’s Club, Frenchville. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran serving as a truck mechanic.
Charlie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his hunting camp and spending time with his grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until the time of services.
