The Tyrone B.P.O. Elks announced their choices for Elks “Teenagers of the Month” for the months of September, October, and November.
Each student is presented with a plaque when receiving this award.
Award recipients for September are seniors Russell Beck and Cory Anderson.
Russell is the son of Ron and Betsy Beck of Tyrone. His school activities include Football, Basketball, Track, Yearbook, and Speech Team. He is also in the Academic Academy at TAHS and is a member of the National Honor Society, and has a 4.06 GPA. Russell is also active in his Church Youth Group, Church Council, and works at DelGrosso’s.
Cory is the son of Brian Anderson of Tyrone. He has been on the honor roll and high honor roll through most of his years at TAHS. Cory works at Career Link.
Award recipients for October are seniors Caitlinn and Jenna Dillon.
Caitlinn is the daughter of Julie and Donald Dillon of Tyrone. Her school activities include National Honor Society, French Club, Key Club, and a member of the TAHS Tennis Team. She served as the Tennis Team Captain, Key Club Treasurer, and has a 4.33 GPA. Caitlinn is also active in Upward Bound and her Church Youth Group.
Jenna is the daughter of Julie and Donald Dillon of Tyrone. Her school activities include National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, French Club, Concert Choir, and is a member of the TAHS Marching, Concert, and Jazz Bands. Jenna has had perfect attendance since eighth grade, was nominated as Best Leadership in Band, recipient of the Tournament of Bands Music Scholarship, participated in District and Regional Band, and has a 4.28 GPA. She is also involved in her Church Youth Group, Church Choir, and Upward Bound.
Award recipients for November are seniors Wade Branstetter and Sara Boyer.
Wade is the son of Joel and Kathy Branstetter of Tyrone. His school activities include National Honor Society, Basketball, and Golf. He was selected as one out of thirty students to participate in the 2006 Corning Summer Science Program and has a 4.0 GPA. Wade is also involved in his Church Youth Group and coaches Elementary Basketball and Pee-Wee Baseball.
Sara is the daughter of Michael and Wendy Boyer of Warriors Mark. Her school activities include National Honor Society, Colorguard, Renaissance, and Prom Committee. She serves as President of National Honor Society and Renaissance. She was also named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Sara works at Kopp Drug in Tyrone.
