Bellwood-Antis Middle School Principal Robert Fisher called to report that they had three purses stolen from the school between the dates of January 26 and February 2. Fisher stated that the school has identified two suspects that they believe were involved in the thefts. The purses were apparently left in the hallway outside the middle school cafeteria. The actors’ lockers were in that hallway. One actor would take off his hooded sweatshirt and drop it on a purse. The actor would then pick up his hooded sweatshirt and the purse, go to a restroom near the cafeteria, empty out the purse, and throw it in the trash can or hide it and go back later
The investigation continues.

Rossi Corner Store in Tipton, Antis Township reported a theft on January 31.
Hollidaysburg State Police report that a white male who appeared to be older with silver hair, driving a tan Chevrolet truck with an extended cab pumped $38.08 worth of gasoline and left without paying for it.

State Police report that a protection from abuse violation occurred on Teaberry Street in Snyder Township February 2.
Carrie Miller of Altoona reported that Steven Lamont Pierce of Altoona violated the protection from abuse order against him at the above location and date. Ensuing investigation led to the filing of charges against Pierce through Blair County Court.
The investigation continues.

Philipsburg State Police report a one car accident on SR 350 near the Sandy Ridge traffic light in Rush Township, Centre County, February 3.
Police report that a 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor, operated by Christine Illig, age 20, of Tyrone was traveling south on SR 350 when she struck a deer that jumped onto the road in front of her.
Illig, along with two passengers in her vehicle, a 16-year-old male juvenile and an infant male were not injured.

The intersection of SR 1001 and SR 4022 Antis Township was the scene of a two car accident February 6.
State Police report that Donna McFarland, age 73, of Tyrone was traveling north on SR 1001 and Mary Schroder, age 51, of Altoona was traveling south on the same road. McFarland traveled into the path of Schroder’s vehicle. The front end of Schroder’s vehicle struck the right front quarter panel area of McFarland’s car within the intersection.
McFarland was not injured. Silas McFarland, age 77, a passenger in the McFarland vehicle, had minor injuries. Schroder and a passenger in her vehicle, Joe Roland, age 40 of Altoona, also had minor injuries.
Bellwood Fire personnel assisted at the scene.

Ironville, Snyder Township was the scene of a one car accident on February 6.
State Police Report that a 2001 Toyota Tacoma was traveling south on SR 1015 and attempted to round a left curve in the roadway. The vehicle crossed the center line and the driver lost control of the vehicle, going west of the roadway striking a tree. The vehicle then spun 180 degrees and came to rest off of the roadway facing east.
The operator of the car, a 16-year-old male juvenile, along with two passengers, a 17-year-old female juvenile and a 16-year-old female juvenile were not injured.

The I-99 Bellwood exit was the scene of a one car accident January 7.
State Police report that Donna Miller, age 60, or Tyrone lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway. She crossed the interstate and impacted an embankment.

State Police report a case of criminal mischief along SR 4020, Reightown Road, in Antis Township.
Travis Noland, of RD Tyrone, reported that someone smashed his rural mailbox, valued at $30.
