The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce has many upcoming events planned for business and community members.
First, the Chamber has scheduled the latest Lunch-n-Learn, which is a great opportunity for a delicious meal, informative speakers, and a chance to network with business people in the community.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20 at Burley’s Restaurant from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The presenter is scheduled to be Maria Beyer, Director of Marketing, Nahid Marketing, and she will be presenting the topic: Identity Theft and Affirmative Defense Response System. The presentation will answer questions for business owners regarding identity theft.
Reservations for the Lunch-n-Learn are required.
Call Executive Director of the Chamber, Rose Black at 684-0736 by February 19 to RSVP. Seating is limited, and tickets are $15 each.
In other Chamber news, the annual dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24 at the Tyrone Elks Club.
The dinner committee is currently soliciting donations from area businesses of gift baskets, gift certificates, or any other item that a business would feel comfortable to donate. These donations will then be raffled at the dinner.
The dinner committee consists of: Lori Eckert, Ann Searer, Cathy Igou, Tammy Datris, Sandi DelGrosso and Diane Irwin.
The committee appreciates all the local support the dinner has received over the many years it has been held and feels this year’s dinner is on its way to becoming a huge success.
Finally, the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce is working on implementing a new idea.
The Chamber’s thought is to create a basket of products, either manufactured in this area, or an item that best represents local companies and businesses. The thought is to have newcomers become familiar or create awareness to the area’s many businesses with a welcome basket.
The assembled basket would be delivered to each family or business when they move to the Tyrone area.
The Chamber is currently collecting items to promote and represent businesses and services in the area to be included in the welcome basket.
If your business or organization has an item to be included in the basket, or for more information, contact Rose Black at 684-0736.
