A Blandburg man, John M. Evanskey, was charged with resisting arrest after an incident on State Route 865 in Antis Township on Nov. 24 at 10:19 p.m.
Police said Evanskey was observed speeding in a 35 miles-per-hour speed zone. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop. However, Evanskey failed to stop and continued to flee from state police traveling north on Route 865.
Evanskey was pursued by state police to his residence in Blandburg where he then exited his car and attempted to flee into his residence. While Evanskey was attempting to enter his residence a state trooper pursued him onto the front porch where a physical altercation took place between Evanskey and a state trooper.
Evanskey was arraigned on the charges and posted bail.

Two people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on State Route 220 and Stadium Drive in Antis Township on Nov. 25 at 3:19 p.m.
The crash happened when Michele R. Montgomery of Altoona was traveling south on State Route 220. Faye A. James of Altoona was traveling north and intended to turn left at the intersection. James pulled her vehicle into the left-turn lane. However, she failed to observe Montgomery’s vehicle and pulled directly in front of it.
Montgomery was unable to avoid James’ vehicle and the front end of it struck the front end of James’ vehicle. Both drivers were taken to Altoona Regional Medical Center for treatment. James was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. Montgomery was also wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries.
Both vehicles were disabled as a result of the crash. Police were assisted by Bellwood and Pinecroft EMS and Fire Rescue.

Police investigated a burglary at a residence on Rossman Road in Antis Township that happened sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 26.
Police said someone entered a garage and three sheds on the property of Barbara and Robert Mills. According to the police press release, nothing appeared to be missing from the garage or sheds.

A 44-year-old Tyrone Township woman was the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Sunday around 11:30 a.m.
State police and AMED responded to a Kettle Road residence for a shooting incident. It was determined that the woman suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest from a .22 magnum revolver.
The woman was transported to Altoona Regional Health System Trauma Center for treatment.
