A tabletop Christmas tree decorated with trimmings used at the time, original Christmas issues of Harper’s Weekly newspaper, and other interesting items will be on display.
The second part of the program presents Christmas in the Union Army camp at Falmouth, Virginia. Visitors will be able to sample the Christmas meal Colonel Crowther described to his wife. Living historians will read passages from actual letters written by soldiers describing their Christmas experience.
