Blair Senior Services and Tyrone Hospital are co-sponsoring a community education program entitled “Keeping Your Mouth Healthy”.
The program will address what senior citizens need to know about teeth, gums and denture care.
The program will be presented by Dr. Donald S. Miller, a dentist who is a member of the Tyrone Hospital medical staff.
“It is important for people to address oral health as part of their overall health maintenance,” said Dr. Miller. “Older adults need to be aware of how prescribed medications, changes in health and diet can affect the health of the mouth. We will also discuss how there is a direct relationship between your oral health and the health of the rest of your body. This program will give us an opportunity to discuss these issues and answer questions people may have.”
The program is free to the public and open to people of all ages.
The program will be held on Tuesday, November 7 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Tyrone Senior Center located at 503 3rd Street in Tyrone.
Accessible transportation is available by calling 695-3500 (1-800-458-5552) by November 3.
Those 60 or over are invited to stay for lunch. Please reserve lunch by calling 684-7853 by November 3.
