Everyone is invited to celebrate the 22nd annual community arts and crafts day as area friends and neighbors showcase their handiwork at the Tuckahoe Street Fair slated for October 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bellwood’s Excelsior Firehall.
The emphasis of the community fair is handmade arts and crafts and craft demonstrations.
Sweatshirts and quilts along with arts, crafts and all types of baked goods including cakes, pies, cookies and candy will be available at the fair.
Arts and crafts featured will be ceramics, wood crafts, quilts, baskets, candles, floral arrangements, painted items, dolls, needlework and machine stitched projects.
This year, the Bellwood Quilting Bees will sponsor a quilt show and exhibition. The show will be held at the Logan Valley United Presbyterian Church, located across from the fire hall.
Breakfast will be served again this year by the Excelsior Fire Company.
For all the Civil War enthusiasts in the area, a Civil War encampment will be set up by the Pa. Regimental Band of Civil War Reenactors, the 46th Regiment Band Logan Guard .
There will be many vendors at this year’s event. Currently, there are over thirty vendors signed up to participate this year.
Carol Davis will once again have a booth set up with scarves, lighted garland and fall items. Clara Davis will have shirts and various sewn items available throughout the day.
Mary Brunner of The Bellwood-Antis Historical Society will be setting up a table and there will be a fly tying demonstration by Ron Berkstresser.
Trinity United Methodist Church women will have a food booth and the U.S. Armed Forces Mothers will sell baked goods, apple dumplings, soups, soda, meatball sandwiches and military items.
A booth will be set up for Monica’s Heart Greyhounds to provide information on greyhound adoption.
The Beatty’s, Parks’ and Padula’s will have food available this year. Also, Rick Beatty will have an information booth on Olivet Baptist Church.
Patty Davis will sell haluska, baked goods and homemade afghans (The American Cancer Society) while Absolutely Kettle Korn and gift items will be sold by Joe Helsel.
Norma Bayer will have handcrafted cards and beeswax items available while Brenda Shelow will have a jewelry booth.
Jared Frederick will have two Civil War books on hand, “Civil War Leaders” and “More Civil War Leaders”.
Sue Tritle will once again have quilts available while Dana Weaver and Mary Lou Royse will also have quilted items this year.
Country lighted angels and mailboxes by Cindy Burget will be on hand this year along with country decor from Bell’s Run Country Shop.
Susan Spring will have a variety of items at her booth, including pillows and pillow covers, baby quilts, fleece hats and scarves, wall hangings, table runners and place mats.
Mums and pumpkins will be available from Brenda Decker and wood and floral items, along with votive candles will be set up at Joyce and Joe Stahl’s booth.
Karen Lonesky will have Ken and Barbie clothes at her booth and also baby bibs, wedding books and baby books.
Naomi Poe will have baked goods available while Sherri Sabatino has homemade jewelry and gift items.
Also this year, Melissa Blake will have wood crafts and ceramics, fall and winter lighthouses, ghosts, pumpkins, snowmen and ornaments.
Franklin Ammacher-3-D origami will also have a booth set up this year.
The fair will be held rain or shine.
