State police are investigating an incident that happened yesterday at the 401 N. Fourth Street home of an 82-year-old woman in (Bellwood) Antis Township.
Police said a man told Flora Mae Kustaborder he was “with the borough” and was going to pave the alley that surrounds her corner house. He told her that he needed her to show him where her gas, water and sewer lines were located. Kustaborder walked around her yard and the neighbors’ yard pointing out the lines.
When they returned to the woman’s house, Kustaborder discovered her screen door was partially opened. A white truck that the victim had noticed parked in the area was no longer where she had seen it. The truck then pulled up to her house and the man entered it on the passenger side. The woman attempted to hold onto the truck as it fled the scene northbound on North Fourth Street towards North Cambria Street.
Kustaborder discovered that someone had entered her home and took a cash box with money in it. Several drawers were also opened.
The man the woman encountered was described as a white male, 25 to 30-years-old, tall, thin with blue eyes. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a fluorescent green vest and white hard hat and white tennis shoes. There was no description of the driver of the white truck or the person who entered Kustaborder’s home.
The truck was described as a newer model white Ford F-150 pickup truck with a yellow light on its roof.
