Tyrone Area High School will welcome Lisa Dickerson to present the nationally acclaimed “Making High School Count” presentation to all 9th grade students on Thursday, September 21 at 2 p.m. in the large auditorium.
“Making High School Count” is designed to help 9th grade students understand the importance of high school, make the most of their high school experience, and recognize their potential for future success.
The hour-long presentation will explore many topics including: common freshmen mistakes and how to prevent them, the importance of grades, test-taking and study skills, the value of high school extracurricular activities, and creating a personal plan for success in high school and beyond.
“Making High School Count” is offered to schools at no cost thanks to the program’s corporate partners, including FastWeb, Monster, Staples, and Internet Broadcasting Systems.
High School Principal Rebecca Erb would like to invite all parents of 9th grade students to attend this assembly. Many parents have found it beneficial to hear the “Making High School Count” presentation and reinforce the concepts presented with their child at home. Parents planning to attend can sign in at the high school main office at 2 p.m. on September 21 and then proceed to the auditorium for the presentation.
