The band the Country Music Association labeled as the “top independent artists of 2005”, the PovertyNeck Hillbillies, will perform at Burgi\'s Roundhouse Bar and Grille, 1830 East Pleasant Valley Blvd., on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 10 p.m.
Country act Kellie Lynne will open for the PovertyNeck Hillbillies at 8:30 p.m.
The PovertyNeck Hillbillies, the official band of the Pittsburgh Steelers, recently produced a music video for the song “Mr. Right Now” featuring Steelers\' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, and sold more than 30,000 units with their CD, “Hillbilly State of Mind.”
This will be Povertyneck\'s third appearance at Burgi\'s, performing before sold-out crowds both times. Tickets, priced at $10, are on sale now at Burgi\'s Roundhouse, Thompsons Pharmacy on East Chestnut Avenue or by charging by phone (943-1333). There is no reserved seating for the show.
The performance by PovertyNeck Hillbillies, who recently headlined at the Central Pennsylvania Arts Festival, is part of Burgi\'s second anniversary celebration Labor Day weekend. Felix and the Hurricanes will perform Sept. 1 at 10 p.m. and KYX on Sept. 2 at 10 p.m.
