Family Services’ “Stop Violence Against Women Task Force” will be holding a Comedy Blast Event on Friday, October 6 at the UVA Club in Altoona, starting at 7 p.m.
“Family Services is very proud to present its very first evening of stand-up comedy,” explained Gunter Volders, Marketing and Communications Manager for Family Services Incorporated. “The night includes dinner, non-alcoholic beverages, dessert and of course a great comedy show.”
The co-headliners will be Stan Stankos and Johnny Watson. Stan Stankos is from New York by way of Chicago. Stankos is a regular at every major comedy club throughout the Midwest, including Zanies Comedy Clubs, The Improve Comedy Clubs, The Looney Bin in Wichita, Comedy Café in Milwaukee and Riddles Comedy Club in Chicago. He has shared the stage with Margaret Cho, The Amazing Jonathan Emo Phillips and the legendary Charlie Callas.
Johnny Watson, from New Jersey, has a clean and original act. Watson is a regular at the prestige comedy clubs on both coasts, from The Laugh Factory, Ice House, Comedy Store, and Improvisation in Los Angeles, to Stand-Up in New York and the New York Comedy Club in New York City. Watson is also an accomplished actor, and appears in numerous commercials and theatrical productions.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. and the comedy show at 8 p.m. Participants must be 21 or older to enter. Cash bar will be available.
