Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania is proud to announce the 22nd Annual Softball Marathon raised over $46,000 for the children and adults with disabilities and special needs locally.
The Softball Marathon was held at nine fields in Blair County on August 11 through August 13. The event began with a game between WTAJ TV10 joined by ROCKY 104.9 versus AMBUCS! Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania 2006-2007 Youth Representative, 5-year-old Sam Barber threw the first pitch to kick off the event as well as his new role as Ambassador.
Over 80 teams of 12-20 members played in the for fun softball game to benefit the children and adults of Easter Seals. The top fundraising teams were The Moore Brother’s Construction & Concrete with $3,200, Jamettes/Jamnuts with $2,600 and Albemarle Chemicals with $2,200.
Easter Seals offers many programs and services to children and adults with disabilities in Central Pennsylvania. Easter Seals’ programs are community-based and community-driven. The quality of these services is very high, as is the cost. With the help of special events like Softball Marathon, more children and adults with disabilities are given the opportunity to be helped more than ever before.
The 22nd Annual Softball Marathon was made possible by the dedication of the community as well as the following sponsors: Coors Light/Inco Beverage, Roaring Spring Bottled Water, Cassidy’s Brew Zoo, ROCKY 104.9 and WTAJ-TV 10, Four Dee’s Lounge, and Pellegrine’s Lounge.
